      The Perfect Versatile Chili Sauce

Over the years there have been a few things which have grown on my taste and chili is for sure one of them. As a child it would have been a crime to put chili sauce and cheese on my hot dog and now I can’t wait until the big game on Sunday so I can have another one! This game day chili sauce is a fantastic addition to your game day selection. It can be used for for a hot dog or nacho bar along with this cheese sauce recipe making it very versatile.

I had never made my own chili sauce until today and it was remarkably easy and so much more tasty than chili from a can! I continue to learn as I cook and bake to not be intimidated by making anything. There are so many recipes out there for anything you could want to make. This recipe was a combination of several I researched over the last couple of weeks.

To begin this recipe preheat your oven to 350°.

Then brown the hamburger, drain and set aside. Next combine the ketchup, salsa, onion powder, tomato paste, garlic powder, chili powder, mustard, and water in a medium sized mixing bowl. Continue by dumping in the browned hamburger and mix until hamburger is well coated in the chili mixture. Add in additional water to achieve the desired texture.

Pour the mixture into a oven safe pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Serve warm and enjoy your game day chili sauce!
