Hi Everyone! If you haven’t been around me much in the last couple of years you may not know I have made several major changes in the realm of health and fitness! Even though I was once a very active dancer and trialed and few team sports in high school, but through college and medic class I fell off the fitness wagon and didn’t really exercise much!
Fast forward to two years ago, I decided I was going to not only loose a little weight since I didn’t like how my clothes fit anymore, but also set a goal to complete a 5K. I didn’t set a time goal, I just wanted to complete it, and after joining an online fitness community, I started getting ads for a virtual 5K. This was it, I was going to do a 5K in my own neighborhood. So after training and working up to walking/jogging 3.1 miles I did it, a day before my 30th birthday, I competed my first 5K. I had conquered the Great Pumpkin Run!
I found sticking to a schedule with my health and fitness routine has greatly helped to stay on track. Although the recent Holidays have slightly thrown me off, this week it is back in full swing!
Below is my most common schedule I stick to. I usually meal prep on Saturday, occasionally Sunday. I generally have 5-6 days a week of 30 minute workouts.
The last fitness challenge I completed was through my employer when they hosted the local Great Inflateable race. My first live 5K event. I took my son with me, he was as energetic as can be, and I was glad I was able to keep up with him for the most part. The most important thing that challenge taught me was changing your habits and sticking to them will make it easier in the future. Sticking to the above schedule has helped me to be consistent with not only working out but meal prepping.

Take a walk around the neighborhood and enjoy nature.
Walk or jog on the Treadmil while watching your favorite show!
Yoga — Amazon Prime or YouTube have some great videos!
Dance to your favorite music!
