As I sit here relaxing after the long weekend, getting ready for our first Christmas festivities this evening I can’t help but be so thankful for multiple amazing Thanksgiving celebrations filled with family and wonderful food. When we have the opportunity to sit and think it’s amazing the list of blessings you can find within your life.
Black Friday came and went— I did hit a few stores Dollar General, Menards and ALDI, super exciting places on Black Friday for sure! We found a few amazing deals on Amazon for things we were going to purchase anyway— we’re now ready to bring on some adventures for the New Year including switching over to streaming as our primary source of home entertainment.
While grocery shopping I picked up some ingredients for some amazing Christmas recipes I can’t wait to share! Cutout cookies which made every Christmas at my Grandmother’s even more special. Gingersnaps and peanut butter blossoms for those who aren’t fans of frosted cutout cookies. I am also planning on doing something different for our friends and neighbors this year, instead of cookies/ candy (which they still may get some of) I am planning on making some mini loaves of apple cinnamon, banana, and pumpkin bread.
As I think about Christmas baking I am excited to listen to a mix of Christmas music. The music helps me remember the true meaning behind Christmas and center my thoughts to remind me why I enjoy cooking and gift giving.
Truly the anticipation an preparation for Christ’s Birth, or Jesus’s Birthday as many of the children at church referred to it today is just as exciting to me as the holiday itself. We give to each other to symbolize our love for each other as the wisemen gave to Jesus. It makes my heart happy to share my cooking and recipes with all of you and I can’t wait to pass on some of my traditions so others can take ours and form or transform their own!
